And the 24-year-old is now keen to win his first silver medal with the Reds, and is even more motivated with his manager stepping down at the end of the season.
“It’s big for [the fans] and for us and for the club,” Gakpo, who has scored in every round of this season’s Carabao Cup, explained to LiverpoolFC.com.

“The manager has come here and done something great and as a team we want to give him the best send-off and that means winning a trophy.
“The first thing we can give ourselves is also something we can give to him. It gives us a little extra push and a little more motivation. It’s not that he needs it. That’s what we really want him to accomplish. ”
Gakpo also knows a thing or two about scoring in finals, having scored the winning goal for local team PSV in the 2022 Dutch Cup final as club captain.
He added that wearing the number 18 shirt “will be a great experience, but for me personally, I will realize later.”
“When I go out, I’m really focused, right? I’m watching, but I’m not really enjoying it. And then after the game, I think, ‘Wow, the fans were really amazing.'” Me is really looking forward to it. ”
Gakpo stated, “I believe our team is doing well right now, both in terms of our performance and the season overall. Everyone is excited to be in this game. The season is about winning trophies, but this is a good moment for us. “You might have an opportunity to be victorious.” . ”
